Spearfish safely with professionals
Spearfishing is hunting underwater. We are dealing with the risks of diving on one breath and the risks of handling a weapon. Our spearfishing professionals will teach you everything you need to spearfish safely and successfully.
No freediving experience needed
You don’t need any freediving experience to take this course. We will teach you everything you need in order to dive safely and comfortably while you’re spearfishing during this course.
A spearfishing community
Just like with freediving, you can’t spearfish by yourself. Luckily we are Australia’s largest and most active freediving/spearfishing school so when you take a spearfishing course we’ll introduce you to our community. It’s easy to find dive buddies!

1 day Spearfishing Course
Gain the essential skills to become a confident spearfisher! Discover how to manage your equipment, identify edible fish, master hunting techniques, and ensure safety while spearfishing. In this one-day course, you'll spend the morning learning these skills before joining our instructor for a spearfishing session in the water. Beyond its practical value, this course will be tonnes of fun! If you’re a confident diver already or you’ve take a freediving course already and just need to learn to spearfishing component then this course is for you!

2 day Spearfishing Course
Our two-day spearfishing course includes all the content of our one-day course, with the addition of extensive freediving instruction. Our goal is to enhance your freediving skills, ensuring you feel confident and at ease underwater while hunting. If you're eager to fully immerse yourself in spearfishing and you’ve never taken a freediving course then this two-day course is ideal for you!

What does your course look like?
Here’s the course schedule for your 1 and 2 day spearfishing courses. We teach spearfishing courses with a ratio of 3 students per instructor
Spearfishing 1 day:
9am - 12pm: Meet at our classroom near the dive site for the theory session. You’ll learn all about how to use your equipment, underwater hunting techniques and which fish you should be targeting.
1pm - 4pm: Hop into the water with your instructor and go spearfishing! Your instructor will guide you in the water and hopefully you bring home dinner!
Spearfishing 2 days:
Day 1-
9am - 12pm: Meet at our classroom at the Adreno store for the theory and breathwork session. You will learn everything you need to know to improve your diving and hold your breath for substantial periods of time.
1pm - 4pm: Hop into the pool for our pool session. This is where we improve your technique and put to practice what we learnt about holding out breath longer.
Day 2-
9am - 12pm: Meet at the dive site for a theory session. This is where we introduce your to your spearfishing gear and learn all about the equipment, underwater hunting techniques and which fish you should be targeting.
1pm - 4pm: It’s time to spearfish! You’ll go spearfishing with your instructor and put everything into practice. Fingers crossed you shoot some fish too!

The course runs for 1 day, tpically on the weekend.

Be able to swim 200m unassisted, non-stop in a pool setting. You can take as much time as you need and you're free to choose any swimming stroke(s) of your preference for this.

Once you complete the course and all its requirements of the course you will receive a Molchanovs Discover Freediving certification

DO NOT scuba dive 24 hours before freediving.
DO NOT dive if you are congested.
Avoid a heavy breakfast before your dives.

The minimum amount of students we can take per course is 3. So if you and your family or friends would like to have a private course and you have at least 3 people ready then we can arrange a course exclusively for you.
